OnSpeX is a leading provider of consumer product testingservices for products sold in the U.S. and Canada . We are currently seeking a Project Engineer to work in ourconsumer product evaluation group located in Cleveland , Ohio .

JOB SUMMARY

This Project Engineer position reports to the OnSpeX Cleveland Office Senior Technical Writer. This individual in this position will make the final technical decisions for test protocol methods and test report documentation. Other duties include reviewing and writing test protocols and test reports for technical correctness. The Project Engineer will provide ongoing feedback to the Operations Manager regarding suggested modifications to any experimental apparatus and/or equipment being developed. Generally works with minimal supervision.



Job Requirements:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reviews test methods and test reports for technical correctness. Verifies the test methods can be performed by Operations and apply to the type of product being evaluated.
  • Helps to write test methods and test protocols.
  • Works with Operations Manager on development of test equipment for the test laboratory to improve test capabilities and services that we offer to our clients.
  • Maintains accurate, orderly and complete records.
  • Performs within established guidelines and procedures.
  • Makes field trips and assists in work outside the laboratory as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Technology or related technical or non-technical field, such as mathematics, physics, or the equivalent in relevant practical experience; or preferred licensed Professional Engineer.
  • Must have a working knowledge of basic instrumentation, laboratory procedures and their application.
  • Laboratory experience and a diverse background in consumer/hardline products.
  • Proven knowledge of IT software (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel etc.).
  • Knowledge of Data and Statistical Analysis.
  • Understanding and experience with Industry and Safety Standards.
  • Team-oriented with good interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated systematic problem-solving ability.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, prioritize, follow-through and evaluate assigned functions and duties.
  • Must be self-motivated and client-service oriented.
  • Good communication skills and proven ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Able to work in a fast paced environment with tight customer deadlines.
  • Must be willing to travel as needed.
