Job Description
The Nursing Operations Manager represents Administration on-site during off shifts, weekends, and Holidays. They serve as the responsible agent for any circumstances requiring immediate response, resolution or referral. They manage RN, LPN, PCNA, US and courier resources in the Central Nursing Resource team. 1. Serves as Administration on-site and responsible agent for any circumstances requiring immediate response, resolution, or referral. Including, but not limited to crisis intervention, chemically impaired employees, fire and other emergency evacuation, employee and patient and family concerns and disputes, radiation safety, infection control, disaster policies and procedures. 2. Ensures the practice of professional nursing and manages the delivery of care as needed. 3. Initiates, prioritizes, and resolves situations that impact patient care delivery, the safety of patients, visitors, and employees through collaboration with departments across CCF. 4. Coordinates and participates in individual patient care and/or family related conferences as needed. 5. Works in collegial relationship with all Foundation professional staff to ensure multi disciplinary approach to patient care delivery. Assures communication by physicians to families of patients who have undergone resuscitation, emergency procedures, deterioration in condition. 6. Resolves and monitors customer service issues and results and provides feedback regarding satisfaction results to staff and/or individuals in a positive and timely manner. 7. Facilitates resource coordination during off-hour periods to meet the unique needs of patients/families such as hearing impaired, translators for non-English speaking patients/families, emergency hotel accommodations. 8. Facilitates immediate communication to nursing units for particular problems, e.g. emergency product recall, communication systems outage. 9. Provides leadership, participation, coordination in triple code response, crisis intervention codes. Communicates and coordinates needs for managing violence in the work place. Contributes to documentation process for input to CPR Hospital Committee. Initiates internal and external disaster response directs participation of members, identifies deficits, and initiates and recommends alteration to the plan. 10. Provides leadership and nursing and other support in crisis intervention activities including internal and external emergencies, medical codes, physical crisis intervention, and disaster triage. 11. Monitors and collaborates with PAS, Physicians, nursing units and ICU's, and the E.D. and PACU to resolve capacity and related staffing issues. 12. Manages central resource team employees to include evaluations, corrective action, scheduling, competencies, and clinical development. 13. Demonstrates growth and development in clinical and management skills through an ongoing process of education, consultation, and pertinent literature. Maintains clinical and managerial competencies. Demonstrates a positive and sensitive response in the work place. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: At least five (5) years of recent clinical nursing practice in an acute care organization, and three years of progressive nursing management in a large healthcare facility. Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio, Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or related field required. Master's Degree in Nursing or related field preferred. ACLS certification required.
