GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for ensuring quality patient focused care according to established standards of care. Serves as the representative for administration on off-shifts and weekends and provides leadership to all departments.
The Clinical Supervisor works in collaboration with health care professionals and functions as an innovator, and change agent in pursuit of improved nursing practice and improved patient outcomes. The scope of practice encompasses the use of the nursing process in major areas: practice, education, consultation, research and leadership.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Actively participates in hospital/nursing committees with 80% attendance at meetings.
- Designs and pursues a self-directed, independent educational program for professional growth by means of formal or informal study, sharing literature review, and attending continuing education programs.
- BSN/Bachelor's degree (or working toward it) preferred.
- Must have demonstrated ability to exercise initiative and sound judgment in decision making.
- Must have ability to maintain good working relations between nursing staff, medical staff and other hospital personnel
- Must be familiar with the organization, the functions of all departments and the policies of the institution.
Required Length and Type of Experience
- Three years of clinical experience.
- At least one year of management experience.
Required Licensure, Certification or Registry
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio.
- The following certifications will be maintained: ACLS, PCI (Physical Crisis Intervention)
