Job Description
Job Summary: The Clinical Manager is responsible for the practice of professional nursing in ambulatory setting(s). Responsible for more than 40 FTE's and more than 2 desks or responsible for procedural sedation and more than 25 FTE's. Establishes the clinical direction for nursing care delivery, provides clinical supervision and is responsible for clinical outcomes. Responsible for all aspects of personnel and development. Responsible for attaining and maintaining adherence to prescribed regulatory standards. Coordinators operations with other departments/disciplines to provide effective and efficient patient care. Assists with the development, monitoring and administration of the operating and capital budgets. Ensures specialty nursing practice is in accordance with the philosophy, objectives and standards of the Cleveland Clinic Health System.
Minimum Qualifications: Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Bachelor's degree strongly preferred. Holds high degree of clinical expertise in area being managed. Demonstrates skill in leadership management, communication, counseling, problem-solving, decision making, conflict resolution and group process. Able to interface effectively with divergent groups. Able to positively represent the practice of professional nursing. Required Length and Type of Experience Three years experience as a clinical nurse to include one year of management. Required Licensure, Certification or Registry Registered Nurse currently licensed in the State of Ohio. Required Physical and Environmental Demands Requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires some exposure to communicable disease and body fluids. Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours.
