Job Description
The Sales Manager will oversee the planning and reporting of sales/marketing activities and the development of the outside sales force and service department personnel. The Sales Manager is responsible for reaching the sales targets in accordance with the annual budget. The Sales Manager gives strategic direction to the business in America. The job holder aims at growing the client market share by constantly and creatively focusing on new approaches and on value adding activities. The Sales Manager will develop the sales and marketing concept and an ambitious growth strategy in co-operation with the President/GM of the organization. This person translates this strategy into clear and pragmatic operational plans and activities. This role defines the targets and formulates measurable KPIs to steer the activities into the right direction. The Sales Manager secures a proactive, energetic and entrepreneurial attitude within the sales team. This role steers, manages, coaches the internal and external commercial resources towards the targeted results and closely monitors the performance. This person stimulates internal teamwork and cross-divisional collaboration and good communication with client HQ.
Candidates must have positive displacement pump experience for consideration. A Bachelor's Degree in a business or technical discipline or equivalent experience in related field is required. Some essential qualifications are a knowledge of positive displacement pumps and the various industries that client serves. Past experience with sales to municipalities through public bidding processes is very important. Experience in developing performance metrics and managing distribution is required, as is ability to effectively use sales tools. Of equal importance is a background in people management and development of sales personnel. The Sales Manager creates clear processes to optimize the quality and efficiency of the team efforts.
