Information Systems Technician
JOBSUMMARY
The duties of the Information Systems Technician include but are not limited to maintaining the Mental Health Services network and information systems across several sites within Cuyahoga County. Administers and controls organization data resources. Uses repeatable practices to ensure data availability, integrity and security, recover corrupted data and eliminate data redundancy.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Install, configure and maintain servers.
2. Install, configure and maintain server-side applications.
3. Provide users and systems with technical support as needed.
4. Complete setup, installation, configuration, operation, and provide support of desktop hardware.
5. Manages company printing resources and assists in their effective use.
6. Provide support to company employees requiring technical assistance related to hardware and software.
7. Log and document support/resolution tickets.
8. Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, using tact and discretion, and responding to questions, comments and complaints from internal and external customers in a calm, professional manner.
9. Willing and able to assist users and maintain systems evenings and weekends when necessary.
10. Monitor and manage backups and restore operations.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Training and/or Experience
1. Bachelor degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or a minimum of 4 years relevant work experience may be considered.
2. Experience in Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows 2008 and Thin Client Operating Systems
3. Experience in server side applications and services such as DHCP, AD, IIS, MSSQL, Exchange, Apache, and Nagios.
4. Experience with the installation, configuration and performance tuning of the following applications: MS Office and Symantec Corporate Antivirus.
5. Experience with networking concepts, standards, and knowledge of LAN/Telecom structured wiring.
6. Valid Ohio driver’s license with less than six points and proof of automobile insurance, adhering to the minimum requirements of Ohio’s Financial Responsibility Act.
7. CPR certification plus First Aid and non-violent physical crisis intervention training (within 60 days of hire).
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Personal Characteristics
1. Ability to provide help desk support, troubleshoot and ensure issue resolutions.
2. Knowledge of LAN, proxy servers networking, networking hardware configuration, network maintenance, network performance tuning, and network troubleshooting.
3. Knowledge of MS SQL and MS Access.
4. Strong problem solving ability.
5. Strong communication skills with a desire to provide outstanding customer service.
6. Multi-tasking capabilities and the ability to thrive in a fast paced environment.
7. Knowledge of agency policies, procedures, goals and objectives with a willingness to respect, understand and promote the mission, values and goals of the agency.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Programming experience in web environment; VB.NET preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
1. Ability to lift fifty pounds.
2. Ability to move monitors, CPU’s printers, etc as needed.
