Job Description

Position Summary
Leads a team of inventory analysts, deploy analysts, and database administrators; keeps manager
informed of schedules, priorities, projects, and problems. Provides leadership, coaching and
training to associates; drives continuous improvement in data and software deployments, data
quality and freshness, procedures, documentation, and tools. Leads and organizes team support
for critical issues affecting company software environments. Assists manager with informal and
formal performance evaluations.


Job Duties
1. Manages team activities of deployment of data, hardware, and software (OEConnection
developed or commercial off-the-shelf) from environment to environment adhering to
established quality gates, internal standards, and best practices.
2. Supports team members by improving procedures, tools, and processes. Motivates and
coaches team to continual success; resolves high-level obstacles for team members; provides
formal (performance review) and informal feedback.
3. Provides escalation for deployment related issues in each environment.
4. Manages projects or assists in managing projects assigned to team members. Assures
projects are delivered according to established timelines and quality.
5. Corrects deficiencies in processes, procedures, documentation, and tools as appropriate.
6. Coordinates efforts with the operations manager to ensure other Operations Department staff’s
manual checks, tools, tasks, documentation, and training is current and accurate relative to
each software environment
7. Participates proactively in trouble shooting and resolution aspects of systems, applications, and
peripheral devices. Participates in disaster recovery planning and implementation.
8. Develops and maintains team’s rotation schedule to ensure coverage and work/life balance of
team members.
9. Serves as back-up to operations manager as required.
10. Participates in vendor management discussions and activities as required.


Education
A undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university with a focus in Information
Technology, Computer Science, or related area; or in the absence of a degree, directly-related job
experience leading a systems operations team where a number of years and proven knowledge
may offset the degree requirement.

Experience
In addition to the education outlined above, at least 6 years of progressively responsible
experience working in an operations, technical, and/or systems environment; two (2) of those years
working at a senior-level with demonstrated leadership ability, illustrating a propensity to act in a
management role of understanding workflow and leading a team, while working with management
on company or departmental initiatives. Coaching members of the department requires a thorough
understanding of OEC applications, programs, systems (internal or related), and departmental
guidelines, policies, programs and projects. Demonstrated strong problem solving, analytical and
organizational abilities. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability
to coach and motivate team associates and resolve escalated issues. Strong server/operating
system knowledge; programming skills preferred.
