Job Description
The Marketing Manager supports product and corporate marketing initiatives for our strategic business units. The Marketing Manager leads all product and corporate marketing activities for OEConnection including direct marketing, public relations, research, and industry trade shows. This position is focused on product marketing related activities approximately 75% of the time. This role is responsible for the creation and implementation of OEC strategy to expand market presence among key industry audiences including, but not limited to, automotive and non-automotive companies, insurers, influential system vendors, consultants, and dealership decision-making personnel. This position manages a team of marketing professionals responsible for the creation and delivery of marketing programs that drive product sales and adoption, and customer satisfaction and retention.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Directly manages a team of marketing specialists and analysts responsible for:
o Analyzing product, customer, and market data to understand product usage and target marketing activities in an efficient and effective manner.
o Performing case studies of product implementation and value creation for use in marketing efforts.
o Developing and implementing regular market surveys to enhance understanding of the usage and perception of products by current and potential customers.
o Performing customer interviews and focus group activities as needed to measure market responsiveness to product features and benefits.
o Devising and coordinating the operation of marketing programs to drive product sales, adoption, and user satisfaction.
2. Maintains an in-depth understanding of the product, its features, benefits, and application within the customer environment.
3. Maintains detailed knowledge of market conditions and competing products.
4. Writes copy for press releases, collateral material, advertising, direct mail pieces, newsletters, sales presentations, user documentation, and training materials as needed to support product launch and on-going support initiatives.
5. Coordinates the efforts of outside marketing service providers in the areas of creative development, direct mail, advertising, etc.
6. Coordinates the efforts of strategic partner marketing personnel in the administration of targeted marketing programs.
7. Works closely with the OEConnection sales organization to plan and implement coordinated sales and marketing campaigns to drive customer acquisition and retention.
8. Supports efforts in the preparation and execution of trade show and customer events.
9. Performs demonstrations of OEConnection products and makes presentations to customer groups about product features, benefits, and value propositions.
10. Develops and maintains customer and user contacts in the marketplace to ensure a ready supply of customer references, and testimonials.
Education
An undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university with a focus in marketing or related discipline; or in the absence of a degree, directly-related job experience in marketing where a number of years and proven knowledge may offset the degree requirement.

Experience
In addition to the education outlined above, at least 8 years of progressively responsible experience in a product marketing capacity; qualifications for this position include:
< Minimum of 8 years related marketing experience with at least 3 years experience in a management capacity. Experience in a high tech services or software environment a plus.
< Excellent writing and organizational skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment required
< Must be adept at working in an environment where leveraging resources, matrix reporting and managing by influence are required.
< Ability to engage effectively with end users, product and sales professionals while developing a quantitative and qualitative understanding of the business.
< Demonstrated strong customer service orientation required.
< Demonstrated strong results orientation and project management abilities.
< Ability to understand technical products and communicate effectively to non-technical end users.
