We are currently seeking A Sr. Business Analyst in our Credit Risk department.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Forecast sales, collection rate, down payment rate and rate of promotional mix for Sterling's consumer credit card portfolio. In addition, develop new models and forecasting methods for other revenue area by analyzing consumer trends, applying macroeconomic variables to Sterling consumer credit portfolio and bringing the detail analysis conducted up to a global level with long range implications to budgets and the future profits/expenses of Sterling Jewelers Inc. Brings to the role both a very detailed approach to find/correlate data and than the ability to elevate the findings/recommendations up to global/executive level with long range implications. This position is a evolving and dynamic role where many of the answers are for the incumbent to find using high resource utilization and high analytical skill sets.
* Combines detail and global together. This position requires a high level of questioning and demonstrated attention to detail looking for data issues, resolving them and bringing solutions.
* Needs demonstrated realistic view between business units and results of analysis ultimately working together to forge a good plan.
* Communication style should be conducive to a business environment and able to bring detail concepts up to global but still has the detail level to draw from when citing specifics.
* Technical - Uses Access, Oracle, Excel from experience and prior analyses.
* Extensive use concepts of testing and understands and has direct experience in understanding when numbers don't appear correct and questions/challenges to ensure sound business judgment is used prior to using in analysis.
* Undergraduate degree preferred in finance, mathematics or statistics.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Demonstrated multiple years of experience in a similar role. Strong demonstrated reasoning and analytical skills. Wants to get into the details of the data to find the critical elements driving performance. Highly resourceful and can handle stress and high exposure position with sound reasoning and facts. Resilient in work style and communication style. Strong demonstrated Excel, Access or other database skills demonstrated on the job.
