If you are a highly adaptable team player who enjoys supplier selection and development we’d like to hear from you. We currently have an opportunity available for a Buyer at our Brunswick, OH office.
This person will be responsible for numerous tasks including but not limited to:
- Develop, implement, and communicate sourcing/purchasing strategies, in conjunction with Corporate and individual plant objectives, to achieve the companies cost objectives
- Participate in supplier negotiations, to include price agreements, service agreements, inventory settlements and other commercial issues
- Monitor and report on performance against Corporate and plant cost objectives and prepare executive summaries
- Manage the quoting process for assigned commodities; monitor supplier quote turnaround and drive improvement
- Act as Project Manager for all supplier changes to ensure seamless transitions
- Monitor, track and report on all cost indices related to assigned commodities
- Work with Quality, Engineering and Production Control to resolve supplier issues that may include part changes, new products, quality issues, delivery issues and balance outs
- Maintain supplier files, RFQ files, purchasing forms, and purchasing measurables
Qualified candidates will possess the following:
- Bachelor degree in business related field
- 5 years purchasing experience
- Purchasing experience with steel, plastic, logistic, energy and stampings strongly preferred
- Automotive experience a plus
