Job Title: Environmental Monitoring Technicians
Temporary Duration: Contract
Hours: 1st Shift
Job Description/ Requirements:
The Environmental Monitoring Technicians perform all duties associated with surface and air sampling, associated with personnel during active fill and routine monitoring.
Environmental monitoring is utilized for investigative purposes and to ensure maintenance of the control of the production facilities assuring that aseptic manufacturing complex is acceptable for the manufacturing of sterile drug product. Environmental Monitoring Technicians monitor controlled areas during active and routine modes for the presence of viable and non-viable organisms through the use of particulate samplers, and agar plates. All test information is recorded on the appropriate form by the technician. Any out-of-limit conditions are reported by the technician to the Environmental Control Supervisor. Environmental Monitoring Technicians are responsible for performing a peer review of the records within the group to ensure test data accuracy.
Environmental Control Technicians sample Water for Injection Systems to be tested for particulates, LAL, and bioload. Sampling is performed at point of use valves located throughout the manufacturing complex. Sampling is performed to ensure the integrity of the water utilized in the formulation process of drug manufacture.
Daily environmental monitoring is utilized to ensure the environmental integrity of the aseptic filling areas required by regulatory standards for product batch release. Technicians samples aseptic filling areas during set-up and filling operations for surface, air, and personnel monitoring. All test information is recorded on the appropriate form by the technician and any out-of-limit conditions are reported by the technician to the Environmental Control Supervisor. Environmental Monitoring Technicians are responsible for performing a peer review of the records within the group to ensure test data accuracy.
The following job duties required for this opportunity are:
Requires a minimum of two years post high school science related curriculum having satisfactorily completed Microbiology coursework. Requires basic computer skills and familiarity with computer software such as word processing and database programs. Must be able to routinely handle equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, able to work independently and be available for variable days and shifts as needed
