Where careers take root.

A special environment. One where you recognize you are really making a difference. One where you feel you are truly getting to know patients and co-workers. One where you can continually advance your skills.

That’s the kind of environment where your career can take root. And that’s the kind of environment at Southwest General Health Center, partnering with Cleveland’s University Hospitals Health System where we serve residents of the surrounding Cleveland area.

A not-for-profit, 354-bed facility, Southwest General has a tradition of cultivating strong ties with the communities it serves. Our health care professionals are deeply rooted in our health center’s commitment to provide a healthy future for our patients and their families. The term "Health Center" itself underscores our growing role in promoting wellness as a way of life in our communities.

Our tradition of caring — for patients, their families, our communities and our associates — is recognized in various ways. A few examples:

• We received the prestigious NorthCoast 99 award, signifying we are one of the 99 best places to work in Northeast Ohio.

• For the 2nd year in a row, U.S. News & World Report has ranked us on its list of "America's Best Hospitals" for Respiratory Disorders.

HealthGrades, a national health care quality firm, recognized us with the "2003 Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence," which places us among the top 3.5% of all acute care hospitals in the country.

The recognition from HealthGrades also places Southwest General among a unique group of hospitals recognized for overall clinical excellence across several service lines, including:

  • Cardiac Care
  • Stroke Rehabilitation
  • Orthopedic Care
  • Pulmonary Care
  • Respiratory Care
  • Level II Trauma Center
  • Vascular Care

In addition to a flagship medical facility that offers a full range of acute care services, our Southwest Community Health System comprises such specialty facilities and services as:
